The Valley
Repertory Company, Inc. is a community theatre group based in
Enfield, Connecticut, incorporated in December of 1985. Our
beginnings were the result of the happy blending of two groups that
were looking for new membership and the strength of each other's
experience. Performances from 1986 until 1990 were primarily at
Asnuntuck Community College. In 1990, Valley Rep was welcomed to
perform at the Enfield Senior Center at 100 High Street and we
began a long tenure in that location. Although not affiliated
with the senior groups or the town, we have continued a long
cooperative relationship over the years. Recently, the Town of
Enfield opened a new Senior Center. The Valley Repertory Company
remains at the High Street location, now "The Village Center of
Thompsonville."
Valley
Rep produces two major productions each season, focusing on comedy
and drama. Additionally, we produce Labworks, which varies in its
format. Labworks is used as an opportunity to train new directors
and producers, showcase original material and prepare competition
pieces. Involvement in community projects, such as performing at
Enfield's Millennium celebration and the Enfield 4th of July Parade
rounds out our seasons' offerings.
Membership is
open to all interested in working hard to continue the tradition of
providing quality theatre to the public...while growing and having
fun! The company is an all-volunteer, non-profit
organization.
