The Latest Mrs. Adams

A COMEDY-MYSTERY

by

George Tibbles

Directed by Lisa Eaton

SUNDAY    AUGUST 24    1:00 PM

The Village Center of Thompsonville/ 100 High Street
Enfield, CT

Lily Adams, a sophisticated, lovely dress designer from New York, is brought to her new husband's Connecticut farmhouse to live. She and Sam Adams arrive at night, during a storm. She loves the place until a head rolls down the stairs. The head proves to be merely a bowling ball; it seems they are not alone.  Sam's uncle and his ex mother-in-law are still in residence.  A little weird.  Lily puts up with bowling balls, wraiths dancing through the room and strange opinions.  Ethan Allen, a man who lives under a bridge, stays the night. He is murdered. The village constable conducts a farcical investigation. Ethan Allen returns, not dead at all, but suffering from a disease that all but eliminates his pulse. And Lily begins life again with the Adams family.

Roles available for 4 men, 3 women

All actors will be asked to present a short (2 min.) comedy monologue of their choice.

Memorization is not required.  Cold readings from the script will follow.

Director’s note:  Below is as described in the script, and how I’m setting out to cast.

Given the circumstances of auditioners attending, I will consider some variation for balance of the entire ensemble cast.
